[Album Review/ Video] Last Fantasy – IU

IU has a beautiful voice, beautiful face and adorable personality. I like this MV because it’s so cute and because it features a cute duck, a cute boy (Lee Hyun Woo – from the drama God of Study) and reminds me of the movie “Hugo” (which was AWESOME, just in case anyone’s debating going to see it). The ending of this music video is so aoijsnkdaujskdns CUTE.

♥ 비밀 (Secret) IU’s voice is super pretty in this song. It begins with a lovely piano and towards the end, she belts out the last couple lines. It’s so good, that it literally sent chills down my spine. Great intro track!
♥ 잠자는 숲 속의 남자 (Feat. Yoon Sang) (Sleeping Prince of the Woods) It sounded like bubblegum pop and I really really just wanted to turn it off. I’m not a big fan of the aegyo songs anymore and this was one of those =\
♥  별을 찾는 아이 (Feat. Kim Kwang Jin) (Child Searching for a Star) IU said that this album was to show her stepping out of her childhood and into maturity, and you can totally hear it in this song. This song is about someone’s who’s literally gone away, but is still in your heart. My favorite lines from this are “Where are you? Are you the same as me, who misses you?
You became a star – you’re a living dream in my heart.“
♥ 너랑 나 (You and I) The song she’s promoting! I already told you guys I loved it, cause it’s so freaking adorable. Definately captures the “childhood” part of this album without overdoing it. It sounds so majestic in the beginning! I enjoy attempting to rapidly waltz around my living room to this song when no one else is home kekeke
♥ 벽지무늬 (Wallpaper Design) MY FAVORITE SONG OFF OF THIS ENTIRE ALBUM. Maybe because the beginning is a music box and I’ve had a thing for music boxes ever since I can remember or maybe it’s the lyrics, but this song gets me every time. It’s a song about heartbreak and being so broken that suddenly, everyday is the same and repetitive – just like a wallpaper design.
♥ 삼촌 (Feat. Lee Juck) (Uncle) This song is adorable. I wish I knew who this was written for. As the title suggests, it talks about an Uncle of hers. The cutest part of this song is the dialogue where she tells him to stop drinking and smoking and he’s all “WHY YOU LITTLE…. you’re just like your dad, nagging all the time >__>” CUTE.
♥ 사랑니 (Wisdom Tooth) I have to say, IU does a damn good job of alternating between the cute and the serious. A song about her first love hurting more than her wisdom tooth (WHICH HURTS A CRAPLOAD GUYS UGHHHH). I like this song quite a bit – I can see myself listening to it on a summers day in the city while waiting for my special someone (:
♥ Everything’s Alright (Feat. Kim Hyun Cheol) Meh… not my favorite. It’s a cute song, but I would probably gloss over it if not for this review.
♥  Last Fantasy SECOND FAVORITE SONG. The minute it started playing I thought “This sounds like Aladdin!!!!!” Which is my third favorite Disney movie. EVER. The first is Beauty and the Beast, followed by Tangled. The lyrics to this song are so beautiful too (read translated lyrics here!)
♥  Teacher (Feat. Ra.D) Being 18, and on the cusp of being an adult (but not really) this song means so much to me. Again translated lyrics here, but for any of you who are already old adults (teehee), did you ever feel this way? Part of me feels like being an adult is still guessing you way through life, but pretending that you’re more sure of what you’re doing HAHA.
♥ 길 잃은 강아지 (A Lost Puppy) Alright, I watched “The Knowing” last night and for those of you who’ve seen it, you’d understand why the beginning of this song freaked. me. OUT. IT FELT LIKE THE VOICES WERE THERE T____T. But this song is poignantly sad, because like a lost puppy, she’s asking people to stop being busy, notice her and love her… but no one is bothering to look twice. She wrote and composed this song herself. awww, IU!!! :(
♥ 4AM I’m a sucker for lazy day, rainy day, coffee shop kinda songs and this is one of them. I listen to this when I’m in Starbucks or when it’s a drizzly day on the bus. I wish she’d sing more songs like this because her voice is rather well suited to this.
♥ 라망 (L’ amant) (The Lover) AGAIN! PIANO INTRODUCTION<333 Sad, sad song- but fitting as a goodbye to childhood. It’s a sad thing to say goodbye to the world of innocence.

I love how this album was related to fantasies/ fairy tales. I really truly love fairy tales and stories to get lost in. Listening to this album was like being transported to an unknown fantasy land.
She sounds AMAZING in all of these songs, and while I’m not the biggest fan of every song on this album, none of them are bad. Give it a listen and tell me what you think (:
