Fly To The Sky ‘Ready To Launch’ Concert (2/9)

OKAY GUYS. I JUST GOT HOME FROM A FLY TO THE SKY CONCERT. AND IT WAS AMAZING X A BILLION. CAN YOU TELL FROM ALL THE CAPS! I am so glad I went because Brian and Hwanhee are absolutely amazing performers. The singing was sooooooooooooooo good; it gave me chills. Excellent song list, although I wish they sang Condition Of My Heart and Gravity, which are my favorite songs from them ever. Next time! The MC parts were adorable and entertaining; they were both super friendly~. The dancing was sex. Hwanhee taking his shirt off made me hyperventilate, but more on that later! I’m still a little discombobulated from the concert: I might be leaving some stuff out or getting things wrong, so apologies in advance ^^. I also apologize if all the CAPS break your brains ^^;;.
I was unfortunately about 4819408932043 miles from the stage (upper balcony student section :/), so no close-up pictures :(. (Actually cameras or video recorders weren’t supposed to be used at all.) BUT I watched pretty much everything with my awesome binoculars and I SWEAR THOSE TWO ARE ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. THEY BOTH LOOKED SO SUAVE AND HANDSOME. AND ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY WERE SINGING ♥! Brian came out wearing a gray vest; Hwanhee was wearing a white tux. *________* HOMG. Everyone was going nuts. I was going nuts and I was sitting so far away from them; I can’t imagine what those people in the front seats were feeling. I’m so jealous, though! The first song they sang was My Angel (♥!!) and sjdfklsdjkfldjsklfjdkls IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL. It’s a bit surreal hearing them sing live because they’re both so good! I love Brian’s sweet/melodic voice and Hwanhee’s powerful/gruff voice; the harmonization was heaven. They then sang Habit [습관], which was just as wonderful omg.
Then, a break for them to introduce themselves! HAVE I MENTIONED THAT THEY ARE BOTH REALLY HANDSOME? Brian greeted the crowd with a “Yo, wassup Hawaii?” XDD! I love his voice omg. And him *fangirls*. He was so friendly! Hwanhee spoke through a translator and he was also so freaking adorable!! WHAT A SMILE :D. He would also add in these little English phrases all throughout the concert and the fans went crazy each and every time :). They both looked quite happy to be here and I’m glad the crowd gave them a good response :DD. The MC got to talking about how Brian had strong ties to Hawaii because his brother lives here! Brian brought his brother to the stage and introduced him and it was just really sweet :*. His brother is so shy. Brian even said to him, “Why are you so shy?!” I think there’s something else I am forgetting (will edit if/when I remember), but anyway, Brian introduced the next song. He didn’t say the name; he just said, “I’m sure you guys don’t want to hear Korean songs all night (people all around me were screaming, “NO IT’S OKAY!!1!”), so we’ll be singing a pop song now.” And that song turned out to be … Richard Marx’s Right Here Waiting. OMG ♥. Hwanhee sings very well in English, in case you were wondering. Very well. And then they sang Like A Man [남자답게], which kinda me die. And then some. I LOVE THAT SONG SO HARD. ONE OF MY FAVORITES, ESPECIALLY THE INSANE HARMONIZATION AND HWANHEE’S “OHHHHHHHHHH~~~HHHHHH~~~ *INSERT AMAZING HIGH NOTE HERE*~~”.
In the next talk break, the MC talked about their autograph session yesterday (which was closed to only the VIP ticket holders) and how the duo wanted to get to know their fans even more. So … they played a game called “Wheel of Love and Fortune” XDDD. Basically, they’d draw seat numbers from a box and that lucky fan would get to go up to the stage for a chance to win autographed concert memorabilia (shirts, DVDs, CDs, etc). *__________________*. I WISH I COULD JUST GET LUCKY AT THIS GAME. JUST ONCE WOULD BE OKAY. 8 lucky people got called up for 7 prizes. The guys would throw darts at the wheel and pop balloons to reveal a number underneath, which corresponded to a prize. And in order for that fan to get that prize, they would have to do that balloon popping game with the boys. THE BALLOON POPPING GAME. If you’ve seen Love Letter, you know what I’m talking about: the two people place a balloon between their chests and hug until they burst that balloon. ALL THOSE FANS GOT HUGS OMGGGGGGGGGGGGG. And some of them had difficulty popping that balloon, so that means … EXTRA LONG HUGS!! Hwanhee picked up his fan to pop that balloon. Brian spun his fan around. And I think two of the fans were really lucky cause their balloons wouldn’t pop and Brian AND Hwanhee would squish that person in the middle…! THEY REALLY DO KNOW FANSERVICE. IT WAS GREAT. I wished it could have been me, but omg I was so very happy those lucky fans. The last fan who didn’t get a CD or DVD got roses and chocolates and a picture with Hwanhee :DDD.
Then the solo mixes! Brian went first, singing and dancing to Don’t Go, First Date, Gentleman, Resemblance, and Because I Don’t Love You. He is a really, really, reaaaaaaaaaaally good dancer. His moves were crisp and sexy and well-choreographed. AND he is totally gorgeous so jskdlfjskljfdklsfd I was a very happy fangirl 8D. I especially liked his performance of Don’t Go. THAT WAS HOT. He’s a very charismatic performer. He was shaking hands with the people sitting in the front row too. DAMN I WISH I WERE IN THE FRONT ROW. BUT I DON’T HAVE 300 DOLLARS DDD:. His solo interview came after that. The MC asked him for an embarrassing Hwanhee story and Brian’s all, “…. I can’t think of one right now …. there are so many.” XDDD!!! He talked about mistakes they make while performing, like dancing the wrong steps or voice cracks, but those are all part of being human so whatever ♥. He actually ended up telling an embarrassing story about himself, even though I thought it was more sjdkflsjdfkld adorable than embarrassing XD. He said he gets very nervous when he has to do English interviews: “I was at an English interview and … I didn’t know English.” And then he mentioned how after his interview, he’d get e-mails asking him, “Do you actually know English?” GUHHH HE IS SO ADORABLE. He is a very natural entertainer, you guys. He’s got such an awesome sense of humor and wit; dude, this is why he does so well on those K-variety shows 8D. He also talks about how he has been warmly welcome here and how he appreciates it very much. SO SWEET. Although he did make my heart sort of stop when he said, “I’m going to bring my fiancee to Hawaii.” LOL. He was kidding but you could totally hear the WHAZZAT?!?! go around the audience. I don’t think it’s a bad thing if he found someone special, though. All that loveliness and no one to share it with; that would be a waste! The MC brought out Brian’s hat, which Brian has worn in photoshoots and stuff. AND THEY DID ANOTHER SEAT NUMBER DRAWING FOR HIS HAT AND OBVIOUSLY I AM DESTINED TO NEVER WIN THESE THINGS.
Hwanhee did his solo mix next. The big screen played scenes of a drama he has been in, Over the Rainbow (오버 더 레인보우) which I had no idea existed until tonight *fails*. I gotta hunt that down and watch it sometime. He sang and danced to Tomorrow, Can’t Help Missing You, and Shallow Love. I could sing praises about his voice forever, but lol this is freaking Fly To The Sky. They have amazing voices, end of story. But I have to add that he is also an incredible dancer. There was an interesting chair dance he did for Can’t Help Missing You (I think) which was just dripping of charisma and hotness :D. He untucked his shirt and took off his tie for Shallow Love, so I THINK EVERYONE WAS ANTICIPATING IT. AND YES. HE DID. HE RIPPED HIS SHIRT OFF AT THE END OF THE PERFORMANCE, LIKE BAM!! He’s got a very nice body, to say the least ^_____^. I didn’t have enough forethought to record that performance. I fail :(. BUT OMG NOT ENOUGH TIME TO OGLE THE BODY cause he very quickly disappears backstage.
The MC comes out and explains they’ll have to wait a little while for Hwanhee’s solo interview because “Hwanhee is currently half-naked.” Brian comes out to chat to pass the time, telling the audience, “Actually Hwanhee is now FULLY naked.” *dies* HE NEEDS TO BE ON MORE SHOWS BECAUSE HE IS HILARIOUS AND I LOVE HIM. Hwanhee finally comes out, fully dressed to conduct his solo interview. HE IS SUCH A SWEETHEART, YOU GUYS. He says a lot of really nice things about how beautiful Hawaii is. He also says the girls here are “sexy.” HAHAHAHA! The MC then asked them to compare the Hawaii fans to fans of other places where they have performed. Brian asked if there were any old people on the island LOL. Hwanhee says that he’s really happy with how he has been received here, especially as a foreigner. It is positively adorable how shy he seems. But he’s so funny too :). Hwanhee also signs his hat to give away to a fan. HAHAHA OMG THIS WAS SO FUNNY. The fan was sitting in the balcony, so she was taking a while to get down to the stage. And Brian’s all insinuating that she fainted when Hwanhee took his shirt off lmfaoooooo. I think if I were sitting closer to the stage, I would have fainted. IT WAS THE SEX! jsdkfljdskl!! Hwanhee also talked about the drama he filmed last year, I Love You [사랑해]. WHICH I ALSO HAVE TO SEE, APPARENTLY. The MC asked Brian if he was going to try acting and I think Brian said something like, “It’s always been my dream to be an actor, but that, um, hasn’t been going too well.” XDD. OMG WHY; THAT DOESN’T MAKE SENSE AT ALL. The MC asked them if they knew what “aloha” meant and then asked them to harmonize it 8DDD. Hwanhee sings, “A-lo-ha~~” and Brian just cracks up ROFLMAOOO. Guh omg I love them. The best thing is that they are VERY gracious performers. That always warms my heart. They kept thanking the fans for their support. Brian said something about music transcends races and ethnicities and countries and how they hoped that their fans would always continue to support them. DEFINITELY. THEY’VE BEEN TOGETHER SINCE 1999 AND ARE STILL GOING STRONG ♥.
On to the final song set of their concert~. The big screen showed this video of Hwanhee and Brian punching each other in slow motion and generally beating the crap out of each other. It was quite odd XDD. But funny~. They then performed The Girl Is Mine and Man 2 Man, which had a really sexy dance routine. They were fighting over a girl rofl. A girl came out and Brian and Hwanhee were doing some mad sexy dancing with her. *DIES DIES DIES*. I GOT VERY JEALOUS. I’M SURE I WAS NOT ALONE. Then they proceeded to sing their last (and most classic, imo) three songs: Sea Of Love, Missing You, and Although My Heart Aches. I know cameras weren’t allowed and stuff but homg sjdkflsjdkfldjs HOW COULD I RESIST. I just love all the raw emotion in their voices; truly amazing stuff ♥~. HWANHEE SANG THE MOST AMAZING HIGH NOTE IN MISSING YOU, OMGOSH ♥♥♥♥♥. AND BRIAN IN ALTHOUGH MY HEART ACHES SJKDFLJSKELJFKDLS ♥♥♥♥♥.
AMAZING CONCERT, END OF STORY. I HOPE TO SEE THEM PERFORM LIVE AGAIN SOME DAY. And I wish them all the best in their future endeavors, whether it be more singing or acting or personal. FLY TO THE SKY HWAITING!! DO MAKE YOUR WAY BACK TO HAWAII SOME DAY ♥♥♥♥♥.
(I’ll edit in case I remember anything I forgot to mention ^^. But I did have to mention one thing: I watched pretty much the entire concert with binoculars (except for the last two songs, which I filmed), so I could see their faces very clearly. And I gotta say, Brian’s imitations of Hwanhee on all those K-variety shows are SPOT ON XDDDD. I don’t think it’s a bad thing; it just makes me love the both of them even more. HERE is a very enjoyable clip from Love Letter just for reference. BRIAN IS HILARIOUS. AND HWANHEE IS SUCH A GOOD SPORT.)
